A queer virtual immersive theater experience only partially on earth
Welcome to Rolyrbee Island, a virtual queer adventure only partially on earth. We have remixed the nostalgia of an 8-bit video game with the excitement of live interaction (inspired by immersive theater, role playing games, and alternate reality games). From May 15-29 (2 whole weeks!) you can roam Rolyrbee Island at your own pace and meet the Guardians of each Realm (any time, any time zone, for any amount of time). Every three days, a new realm opens up on the virtual Gather.Town platform, as the map of the island slowly reveas itself to those who seek its wisdom. This experience is SO much more fun with a friend or loved one, so we encourage you to sign up to play with someone nearby or far away - the perks of a virtual adventure are that you can play across time and space.
Audience Role
Audience members/visitors will be guided through the experience via prerecorded video and options for moments of real time video interaction with the performers (Guardians). Audience members can choose to participate as much or as little as they want to. Sharing stories, movement, and images/videos of creative work is encouraged but not required. Audience members navigate their own way through the experience with a friend.

A queer virtual immersive theater experience. Explore the 5 Realms of Rolyrbee Island, engage with the 5 Guardians of Rolyrbee, meet other players across time and space, and connect to your body in subtle and fun ways. You can enter the realms at any time, but the best way to play to sign up with a friend and go on virtual adventures together (and make new friends along the way!). Be sure to send this link to a friend/lover/chosen family member, and choose a time together to move through the retro throwback 8-bit virtual platform of Gather.Town (with optional present day features of video/audio interface and chat!). You also have the chance to meet every Guardian in real time (or realm time :)) throughout each Realm of your stay on Rolyrbee Island. You can only access Gather.Town via Chrome, Firefox, and Desktop Safari - laptop/tablet preferred, phone access is still not available at this time. Sign up for: 1. May 16-18: Orange Realm - Nourish your body with movement through the kitchen and search for the missing ingredient for a special Rolyrbee recipe in Sienti's Community Kitchen 2. May 19-21: Yellow Realm - Go on a creative quest through a maze and collect the Gestures of the Guardians in Drella's Underground Library 3. May 22-24: Green Realm - Release negative energy and help Malin clean up a nasty bout of invasive species in the Botanical Garden 4. May 25-27: Blue Realm - Connect to the rhythm of your heart, the mysteries of the queer ancestors, and the pleasurable things in life with Remalia in the Volcano of Remembrance 5. May 28-29: Red Realm - Solve the mystery of where Zayne has disappeared to from the vantage point of the Mystic Mountains. *All participants are invited to join us on Saturday May 15th to meet the Guardians of Rolyrbee and explore the Red Cabin. Join all of the Guardians on Saturday May 29th for a closing dance party.
