About Side/Step Festival

This is the first edition of Side/Step Festival. 102 Upper Street is a restaurant space previously only used on weekends. Deadweight, alongside a number of other creatives, used the space for rehearsals, workshops, performances and fundraisers. It was a life saver to have free space in which we could continue making work. In recent news, we learned that the space would be used full time from March and we would be loosing access to the space. With the closure of The Vault Festival earlier this year, many artists felt the blow of not having a space to showcase their work. This inspired us to make the most of the time we have left with 102 Upper Street and create our own festival for artists who want to try something new and meet a community of creative people. This festival is made together with Deadweight.
