Valley Road Theatre Company Presents Winesburg: A group of tales of small town life. From the novel by Sherwood Anderson. *About The Production* George Willard is a reporter for the Winesburg Eagle. Throughout his childhood in the rural town of Winesburg, he encounters many grotesques—old and rich, drunk and fat, young and beautiful. Each resident shares their vulnerable truths with the audience, a vital exploration of loss, adolescence, loneliness, and isolation. Adapted from the novel and short story cycle Winesburg, Ohio, first published in 1919, experience an intimate encounter with the residents of a small midwestern town. This intimate experience is limited to 6 audience members per performance. *Production Advisements* - After purchasing a ticket, you will receive an email with arrival instructions. There are no physical tickets. - This performance contains light interaction with performers, periods of standing, and small spaces. You will be moved and guided by performers throughout the performance. - All coats, bags, and purses must be checked at entry and will be stored securely throughout the performance. Phones may be kept on your person but must be turned off. - Photography or video of any kind is strictly prohibited. - Performances begin promptly. All guests must enter on the Grove Avenue entrance to St. John's Church. You will enter the production up a one-flight metal staircase. About Valley Road Theatre Company
Experiential. Exploratory. Immersive. Since September 2022, Valley Road Theatre Company (VRTC) has been dedicated to developing intimate and experiential productions created entirely by teenagers and young adults. Each VRTC production aims to bring the next generation of theatre-makers together, conjoining traditional relics of the art form with the exploration of immersive performance. We have produced plays in traditional proscenium theatres, let audiences roam free across gothic churches, and presented classics for audiences of one—constantly pushing the boundaries of performance, entertainment, and connection.
