Wigs: The Play!

Wigs! is a 60-minute, high-energy improvised show where wigs drive the story. When audience members buy a ticket, they’re invited to vote on a genre and suggest a time, place, or conflict. Each performance begins with the Donning of the Wigs Ceremony—a playful ritual hosted by our Queen of the Night, a fabulous emcee who assigns wigs (chosen by the audience) to each cast member. The Queen then reveals the genre and announces one lucky audience member’s suggested setting, launching the cast into a fully improvised narrative built from scratch in real time.

About Wigs: The Play
Wigs! is a wild new Off-Broadway improv play where wigs drive the story and anything can happen. Each night, the audience (via Instagram) picks the genre — from murder mystery to rom-com — and a cast of quick, brilliant actors (in fabulous wigs) creates a brand-new, fully improvised tale on the spot. Created by Ava Monroe, Wigs! blends the chaos of improv with the heart of narrative theatre — no script, no rehearsal, just wigs, guts, and glitter.
