The Romanovs are throwing one last grand ball. The chandeliers are blazing, the champagne is flowing, and the aristocracy is dressed to impress. Beneath the glittering surface, however, revolution is brewing—and something much older and stranger is coming through the snow. Wicked Hearts is a weekend-long LARP set at the last ball of Imperial Russia. Written by Alison Joy and Kristen Patten and produced in the Midwest by Grimmoire Productions, this historical fantasy LARP combines Romanov court intrigue with dark Russian fairy tales, Siberian folklore, mythology, and the supernatural. Expect political maneuvering, secrets, romance, scandal, supernatural intrigue, and a very fancy ball. Characters may include figures inspired by (and including) the Romanovs, Anna Karenina, Baba Yaga, Koschei the Deathless, Ilya Muromets, the Firebird, Morozko the Frost King, and more.

About Grimmoire Productions

Grimmoire Productions aims to share the magic of storytelling through immersive live-action roleplay experiences. Roleplay can teach us empathy, creativity, and problem-solving while also fostering a sense of community, belonging, and emotional catharsis. Player negotiation, consent, and clear expectation setting will always be a part of our larps. We prioritize player well-being at Grimmoire Productions, but we know that emotional safety does not always mean comfort. Larp, and all art forms, can sometimes be challenging. However players will be armed, to the best of our abilities, with the skills to advocate for themselves and make risk-informed decisions.
