Ten years ago, in a quiet Japanese tea house near St Marks Place, two friends-of-friends meet for the first time. Their conversation blossoms into a creative collaboration: Whisperlodge, the world's first live ASMR performance. Now for the first time since 2020, Whisperlodge returns to New York City for a limited run in an actual New Yorker's apartment. And for the first time since 2018, our co-creators Melinda Lauw and Andrew Hoepfner will be performing again, alongside other Whisperlodge veterans. What to expect Each performance lasts approximately 90 minutes, with an opportunity to use the bathroom at the start of the show. Expect light touch during the ASMR scenes, which you can opt out of at any time by telling the performer: "brake", or raising your hand with all fingers outstretched.
Audience Role
The performance involves sight, sound, light touch, and light smell (essential oil) stimuli, in group and one-on-one scenes. Let us know if you're unable to perceive one or more of these, and we'll make a note to focus more on the type(s) you can perceive.
