Transmission
It's 15 October 1987: the night of The Great Storm. An hour ago, winds reached 12 on the Beaufort scale. There is no 13. The TV just turned on. The Teletext messages are getting increasingly personal. Something wants to take you away from it all.
You're finally getting away from it all: having a quiet weekend, in the middle of nowhere, with just you and your oldest friends. Except it's 15 October 1987: the night of The Great Storm. An hour ago, winds reached 12 on the Beaufort scale. There is no 13. The blackout started 5 minutes ago. No phone, no lights, no connection to the outside world. But, somehow, the TV has just turned on. And the broadcasts are getting increasingly personal. Something wants to take you away from it all. Details: Transmission is an online, cosmic-horror experience via Zoom, for up to 8 players. Audience Role
Players begin by choosing from eight characters with existing relationships between them, and are then taken through the tech and how the experience will work. While this will be done in a theatrical manner by a gamesmaster who will be running the whole experience, it is best understood as a 20-30 minute onboarding process before Transmission really begins. Once Transmission begins, players role play as their characters and will respond to the story that unfolds as they navigate, as a group, through a Teletext system using digital controls.
