The Voices in Your Head

A wonky, dark, and site-specific comedy about a support group that honors weird joy

The Voices in Your Head Immersive Event - Main Image

In The Voices in Your Head, support group members gather to share a bizarre bond. Over an hour-long meeting, eight New Yorkers of varying backgrounds exchange stories, escape the ridicule of the outside world, and build an oasis, even as individual needs test its stability. Staged for an audience of just 16 each night at a cozy, storefront church, The Voices in Your Head offers an intimate, singular experience, and a haven for weird joy. Though this is a gently immersive work, there is no audience participation. Given the show's intimate nature, please only attend if feeling healthy. Performances are from January 8–29, 2024 at St. Lydia's (304 Bond Street in Brooklyn, NY); please note the venue will only open to audiences ten minutes before showtime and tickets must be purchased online and are not sold at the door. All tickets are $28, plus Eventbrite's required fee. The runtime is one hour, and masking is optional.

About Saint Lydia's

One that is strong enough to lean on, deep enough to question, and challenging enough to change you. If you’re not sure what you believe, rest assured that neither are we. We place practice before belief, trusting that eating, praying and singing together moves us deeper into faith. Instead of trying to figure out what we believe, we’re trying to live what we practice. St. Lydia’s is a church that gathers to share a sacred meal, as the first followers of Jesus did. Simple unaccompanied music is sung, scripture explored, and prayers offered, all in the context of a home-cooked meal.
