THE DOROTHY PROJECT presents MISSION UMBRA Are you ready for take-off?
Relive the solar eclipse of April 8, 2024 from a totally unique vantage point 34 km up in the stratosphere. A 360° immersive experience that will transport you to the gates of space to give you an astronaut's view of this unforgettable celestial event. On April 8, 2024, a small team of Quebec artists, scientists and videographers launched a module called “Dorothy” equipped with several 360° cameras into the stratosphere, and succeeded in capturing images of the Moon's shadow crossing the Megantic region at over 4,000 kph. The result is a dreamlike journey to the gates of space, combining popular science, philosophy and poetry for the whole family. MISSION UMBRA is a 12-minute 360° short film, which will be preceded by a 45-minute documentary retracing the adventure that led this team of enthusiasts to take up this crazy challenge, proving once again that with willpower and a little ingenuity, anything is possible.
