The Slightly Silly Party

An Immersive Patriotic Experience

The Slightly Silly Party Immersive Event - Main Image

You enter our patriotically festooned Party Headquarters, greeted by a small chorus of Campaign Coordinators and Volunteers, decked out in Punk-Patriotic-Clown-Chic. They welcome you to the party and take you on a quick, surreal* art tour. They proclaim in speech and song that the Slightly Silly Party stands for Patriotism, Empathy and Nuance. 2022 Figment Festival: The audience entered into our “Art Gallery” for a tour. We reclaim the symbols of freedom, liberty, and democracy from bigots, fanatics, and schmucks. We are for patriotism without nationalism, without jingoism, without chauvinism. We are grateful for our country, without being blind to the horrors that shaped it. We are for music, clowning, kazoos, and duck calls! We are the American Eagle! We are the Silly Goose! We are the Slightly Silly Party! If that’s not silly enough, you’ll be offered a chance to create a patriotic poster at our patriotic paint station, encouraged to read a slightly silly political speech into the Party Record, and invited to join the John Phillip Kazoousa Marching Band. Perhaps you’ll even join the Slightly Silly Party Parade!

About Amnesia Wars

Amnesia Wars was founded by Rob Reese in the death rattle of the twentieth century, mounting script-less productions such as Three Plays in Search of a Script, Honey Harlowe, and Psycheroticproviholicyesandsomthinvoodoo! While never leaving improvisation totally behind, the company went on to script fully produced plays and musicals including Survivor: Vietnam!, Yahweh’s Follies, and 101 Reasons to Thank Your God for Donald J. Trump, Vladimir J. Putin, and My Dad, Who’s a Dick. After its NYC run Keanu Reeves Saves the Universe was produced in Auckland, NZ. AW’s vivid stage adaptation of Frankenstein has become a favorite of high schools and colleges, with productions in New York, New Jersey, Wisconsin, the United Kingdom, and Malaysia. Amnesia Wars has traveled across the globe performing and teaching at improv and theater festivals, desiring to mix with the local artists and audiences, bring something with them from each stop to the next, and then back home.
