The Rim of the World Road Concert
Site-Specific Art & Performance in the SB Mountains
This summer, something special is happening in the forest. The Rim of the World Road Concert is transforming the mountain communities of San Bernardino, from Crestline to Running Springs, into a living gallery of site-specific interactive art, performance, and storytelling—and you're invited to explore it all for free. Taking place across numerous locations in communities along the iconic Rim of the World Highway, this one-of-a-kind event isn’t a concert in the traditional sense. Instead of a single venue, visitors will discover a series of pop-up experiences, installations, and happenings tucked into parks, businesses, and at roadside overlooks – each one inviting you to pause, connect, and experience something unexpected. With 80+ artist participants, there's something for everyone. One stop might feature an artist inviting you to help co-create a mural. Another might offer an audio journey or performance. A little farther up the road, you might stumble upon a live poetry reading, a surreal puppet show, or a space to write your memories on a community windchime. Each moment is different—and each one is designed to bring art out of the gallery and into the wild. The Road Concerts series, which began in Los Angeles in 2008, is in its eighth iteration and will be in the mountain communities for the first time- creating a version responding to the mountain landscape, the local history, and community concerns. How it Works: Visitors will receive a map (digital or printed) highlighting all participating locations across the mountain communities. Installations and performances will be active during set hours (found on map) on the weekend of July 26th and 27th—you’re encouraged to go at your own pace, stop for lunch, and make a day of it. Access your map here: www.theroadconcerts.com So gather your favorite people, hop in the car, and head for the hills.

About The Road Concerts
The Road Concerts is a series of events that writer and artist Stephen van Dyck first created in Los Angeles in 2008. Since then, in seven iterations, the Road Concerts has presented work from more than 300 artists, performers, and musicians, activating unexpected public spaces one long street at a time. Sites occupied have included Sunset Boulevard's 22 miles, from Chinatown to Pacific Palisades; Washington Boulevard’s 27 miles, from Whittier to Venice Beach; and San Fernando Road's 23 miles, from Sylmar to Lincoln Heights.
