The Lost Inn
Immersive Dark Faerie Noir
In 1937, the last gold piece in the Old SF Mint is removed, the lights doused, the doors shuttered. Unburdened by the weight of currency or purpose, the building cracks and shifts; vines and dirt and other things from forgotten realms creep in through steel and stone. Two half-Fae sisters unfurl their enchanted Inn to fill the empty rooms and vaults, welcoming fugitives from both sides of the veil. A mysterious Trickster’s Carnival rolls in, hawking odd games and restless stories. An undercover detective stumbles through the door, searching for a stolen item that can’t possibly exist... Welcome to The Lost Inn where rooms wander and stories escape before they’re finished; but don’t worry, you’ll catch up with them eventually. The Lost Inn is created, designed, produced, composed, and performed by the artists of 13th Floor, under the Creative Direction of Jenny McAllister.
Audience Role
Entrance for the performance is at the front door of the Mint - where you can pick up your tickets starting at 7:30 PM. There, audience members can explore character rooms, play strange carnival games, or grab a drink at the tavern before the show begins at 8:00 PM. Seating is available throughout the performance, which will take place over 2 floors (elevator available). The audience begins their journey together, splits into smaller rooms as more intimate moments unfold, following individual characters and investigating areas throughout the space. Live, original music provides soulful accompaniment (and some additional clues about the story). Sharing information is encouraged! Finally, they are brought back together to witness the final scene. The Tavern will stay open for an hour after the show, for those who want to stay for another drink and explore the rooms again at their leisure.
