The London Dungeon

Live actors, thirteen shows and 1,000 years of London's darkest history — played dead straight and filthily funny.

The London Dungeon Immersive Event - Main Image

The London Dungeon drops you into a thousand years of the capital's grimmest history and then makes you laugh about it. A cast of live actors leads small groups through thirteen interactive shows staged in full 360-degree sets, with special effects, sudden darkness and a great deal of gallows humour. You'll meet Sweeney Todd and Jack the Ripper, sit in on Guy Fawkes' Gunpowder Plot, pass through the Pest House at the height of the plague, and be tried in court for crimes you almost certainly committed. The walkthrough ends with Drop Dead, a short drop ride staged as a hanging. The tone is dark comedy rather than horror maze. It is loud, close and deliberately unsettling, but the performers never chase or touch you, and you can leave at any point. Tours run continuously through the day on timed entry and take around ninety minutes end to end. Alongside the standard tour, the London Dungeon runs seasonal programming across the year — a summer Crime and Punishment season, Halloween shows, and Blackout, an 18+ after-hours edition on selected dates. Check the ticket link for what's running when.

Audience Role

You are cast as a condemned prisoner. The Dungeons address their audience as "traitors" and "peasants": you are herded through in a small group, marched into court, singled out by actors for questioning, sentenced, and finally dropped through the gallows. Participation is invited rather than compulsory, and anyone who would rather not be picked on can hang back.
