For 6 days and nights this October, downtown Mancos transforms into a living world of mystery, laughter, impossible encounters, and unexpected adventure. Part immersive theatre, part interactive story, and part expedition into wonder and uncertainty, The Golden Fox Paradox invites you to become an Intrepid Traveller on a journey unlike anything you've experienced before. Think Alice in Wonderland meets Meow Wolf in rural, magical Mancosland. Expect the unexpected. The Golden Fox Paradox is an immersive journey through downtown Mancos where the town itself becomes part of the story. You'll weave through some of Mancos' most beloved and unexpected spaces—including the historic Wrightsman House, Mancos Common Press, Hand in Hand Bookshop, Alpacka Rafting's breezeway, magical alleyways, town bridges, a very unusual school bus, and a few places we'd rather not tell you about just yet. Along the way, you'll encounter live characters, theatrical vignettes, audio experiences, curious objects, strange clues, moments of wonder, and opportunities to become part of the story yourself. This isn't a traditional play where you sit in a seat and watch. You'll walk through the story, interact with it, and perhaps even help determine what it all means. The Golden Fox is waiting.
