The Factory
Your 15 Minutes Are Almost Up
The Factory is an immersive theater experience that invites the audience to a party at Andy Warhol’s infamous silver art studio. Over the course of the night, a chosen audience Superstar is plucked from obscurity and thrust into the limelight—rising to fame, reveling in its excesses, and ultimately facing the inevitable fall when their 15 minutes run out. Around them, the Factory pulses with life: an underground movie is shot in real time, the live band rehearses and performs a rock concert, a secret love triangle erupts into violence, and Valerie Solanas recruits audience members to join SCUM (The Society for Cutting Up Men). All the while, Andy's popular silkscreened paintings are endlessly produced, and everyone is expected to help keep up with the demand. Time loops in on itself, mirroring the relentless churn of fame, where people come, people go, and nothing ever happens - except, of course, everything does. This electrifying immersive theater experience will return for a special one-night event at 3 Dollar Bill in Brooklyn on February 20, 2025. Created by writer and theater artist Kate Name, the show blurs the line between audience and performer, inviting guests to step into Warhol’s world and experience the glamour, chaos, and destruction of his notorious art studio. Following a successful workshop at 3 Dollar Bill in 2022 and recent grants from the Brooklyn Arts Council and NYSCA, The Factory is gearing up for a full production in Fall 2025. This February 20th event offers a sneak peek at the experience, featuring live performances, original projections, and interactive elements that capture the spirit of Warhol’s infamous studio. Directed by Coral Cohen, the show brings together a dynamic ensemble of performers to embody Warhol’s most infamous muses. Visually, The Factory is brought to life through the innovative projections and set design of Cosette Pin, a multi-disciplinary designer. Pin, known for their collaborations with internationally acclaimed productions—including Sasha Velour’s groundbreaking drag revue NightGowns—merges technical precision with artistic vision to create immersive, narrative-driven experiences that fully engage both performers and audiences. Audience Role
In every rotation of The Factory, one special audience member is chosen to become Andy Warhol’s new Superstar. This volunteer role is open to anyone who wants to step into the spotlight. Central to the plot, The Superstar is featured in some of The Factory’s most visually stunning moments and high-stakes scenes. Guided by various cast members throughout the show, The Superstar is never required to speak or perform independently. The Factory is designed to be an immersive experience for everyone—whether you want to be the center of attention or simply observe from the sidelines. Want to rock out with the band and dance the night away? The Dance Floor is ready for you. Prefer to escape the chaos and create art? The Silkscreen Station offers the perfect space to enter a flow state. No matter what you choose, there is never any pressure to interact with performers— your level of participation is entirely up to you.
