The Dead (2026)

An immersive staging of James Joyce's The Dead through the historic rooms of Newman House

The Dead (2026) Immersive Event - Main Image

An immersive adaptation of James Joyce's celebrated short story, presented across the historic rooms of UCD Newman House. Audiences of 75 become guests at the Misses Morkans' annual dance, greeted in the hallway by the maid Lily before moving upstairs through the house for an evening of laughter, music and dance — ending in an epiphany like no other. Adapted and directed by Louise Lowe, produced by ANU Productions and Landmark Productions in association with MoLI. Now in its third consecutive year, described by reviewers as a "sublime piece of immersive theatre" and by the Irish Times as "a must-see Christmas gem." Approximately 80 minutes, no interval.
