Pillars of Constant Flux The artwork is strongly influenced by the environment, such as wind, rain, and humidity, significantly changing its movement and height. As long as the environment that gives rise to existence is maintained and the flow continues, the artwork's existence is maintained even whilst it constantly changes shape. It is continually moving, flexible, soft, and fragile. Autonomous Resonating Life When each ovoid is pushed over by a person or wild animal, or blown over by heavy rain or wind, it shines brightly and emits a sound tone as it rights itself. The surrounding ovoids also respond one after another, and the light color and tone continues to resonate out. Ever Blossoming Life Tree Flowers bloom and scatter for eternity on a giant tree. A year's worth of flowers bloom over the course of an hour, continuously scattering and changing. Flowers are born, grow, bud, bloom, and eventually scatter, wither, and disappear. The flowers are in a continuous cycle of life and death, repeating forever. Walk, Walk, Walk - Fukuoka Castle Ruins A group of anonymous and diverse figures walk along the stone walls of Fukuoka Castle Ruins. Viewers will make choices, as they confront the figures. Enso on Ancient Stone Wall The black lines drawn with light express the absence of light, and cannot be distinguished from the shadows of the stone walls that have been weathered over the past several hundred years. The black calligraphy and the black shadows created by the long passing of time become one, infinitely drawing Enso on the stone walls. Stone Steps of Oblivion - Fukuoka Castle Ruins The light of each step is autonomous, shining brightly and then fading as if breathing slowly. If a person goes close to the stairs the light glows strongly and a colour and sound tone resonates out. The Materialization of Time Naturally, some types of umenokigoke emit yellow and blue light in the presence of ultraviolet light, but this is not visible during the day due to the strong light from other sources. Under ultraviolet light, the vivid glow of these lichen flickers in the dark, capturing the trail of life that the old plum tree has painted for over more than half a century. Resonating Trees The light of the trees in this artwork responds to the continuous light from the artwork Autonomous Resonating Life, producing a tone and changing colour. That light and tone then spreads continuously, one by one, to the surrounding trees. If a wave of light comes from afar, it signifies the presence of people, waves, or wind there. People gain a heightened sense of awareness of the existence of other people in the same space and the environment.
