This April, Rue Cafe brings the vibrant spirit of the 1920s Parisian cafe society to Chicago with an immersive pop-up experience that will transport you to the heart of the cultural revolution. Walk into a Living Canvas From the moment you enter Rue Cafe, you'll be surrounded by breathtaking video projections that recreate the bustling atmosphere of a Parisian cafe. The air will thrum with the sounds of jazz, cabaret, and early swing, while charming characters dressed in period attire bring the era to life. Meet the Icons of a Bygone Era As you mingle and sip on French coffee, keep your eyes peeled for iconic figures like Ernest Hemingway, F. Scott Fitzgerald, Zelda Fitzgerald, Jean Cocteau, Salvador Dali, Amedeo Modigliani, Gertrude Stein, Cole Porter, Josephine Baker, and Coco Chanel. These talented actors and performers will engage you in witty banter, share fascinating stories, and perhaps even inspire a touch of creative madness. Pop-Up Details: Date: Sunday, April 7, 2024 Time: 2:00 PM – 7:00 PM Reservations for table seatings are 1 pm, 2:30 pm, 4:00 pm, 5:30 pm Reservations include coffee, crepes, and reserved seating. Each seating lasts for one hour and is priced at $24. Scattered throughout the singing, dancing, and dramatic readings, your table will be visited by different celebrities of the time to provide audiences with a unique and immersive experience. Walk-ins are also invited from 1:30 pm through 7 pm - a donation is requested. Walk-ins will discover the immersive video presentation, characters meeting, and greeting, dramatic impromptu performances, art show of local artists inspired by the cafe society, and coffee/confectionaries.
