ROOMINATING by The Vanessa Long Dance Company - Enliven NYC
A series of storefront performances
320 W 23rd Street, ROOMINATING. The Vanessa Long Dance Company performs rotating contemporary dance pieces aimed to provoke feelings, stimulate the senses, and activate the mind. Two dancers will interact with passersby in an immersive installation featuring 100 reused plastic bags while entangled in a human-sized spider web signifying how, even while social distancing, we are all connected. We are delighted to share with you, Chashama's Enliven NYC, a series of storefront performances designed to enliven city neighborhoods and engage local communities. Chashama’s ENLIVEN grant was made possible by the National Endowment for the Arts

About Chashama
For over two decades, Chashama has played a central role in sustaining New York’s vibrant artistic community and increasing access to the arts for all. Chashama supports artists by partnering with property owners to transform unused real estate into space to present and create and provides free art classes to under-resourced communities. Annually Chashama awards $9 million worth of real estate to artists, operates 137 subsidized studios, presents 200 free exhibitions and performances, and provides 300 free art classes for 3,500+ participants in the Bronx, Washington Heights, and Sunset Park.
