RITUAL:SOLSTICE

Light, sound, movement, and ceremony — inside a transformed San Diego chapel.

RITUAL:SOLSTICE Immersive Event - Main Image

Ten Six Pines × Snake Oil Cocktail Co. The Chapel at Liberty Station — Saturday, June 20 RITUAL:SOLSTICE is a one-night immersive experience inside the historic Chapel at Liberty Station. Transformed for a single evening into an environment of light, sound, and ceremony. Ten Six Pines, the San Diego-based immersive installation studio (led by Ben Guerrette) behind the acclaimed City Lights experience, brings their signature work to one of the city's most architecturally resonant spaces. The Chapel's vaulted ceilings and stained glass become the canvas for an original light and sound installation. Layered, atmospheric, and designed to be felt as much as seen. The evening unfolds as a full sensory experience: live jazz from Riva sets the tone from the stage, while choreography by Beth Guerrette & company moves through the installation space, blurring the line between performance and environment. Snake Oil Cocktail Co., one of San Diego's most inventive craft cocktail programs, has designed a specialty drinks menu in direct response to the installation, making the bar itself part of the work. RITUAL:SOLSTICE is not a concert, not a gallery opening, and not a dinner party. It's something harder to name, and that's the point. Rooted in the energy of the summer solstice, the evening is designed as a moment of collective pause: an invitation to slow down, pay attention, and move through something together. Capacity is intentionally limited to preserve the intimacy of the space.

Audience Role

Guests are invited to move through the space freely — dancing, socializing, and engaging with the environment at their own pace. Performers are part of the shared floor: dancers from Beth Guerrette & company will move through the audience, and musicians from Riva will be positioned within the space rather than behind a traditional stage barrier. Guests are asked to be mindful of performers' immediate space, but there are no hard boundaries — the blending of audience and artist is intentional. The mood is warm, participatory, and communal. No performance background or prior experience is needed to feel at home here.
