What is Motion Picture House? Motion Picture House is a large-scale audiovisual installation and art gallery, purpose built to showcase KID A MNESIA. It features a 75-minute movie that blends the architecture of the house with the world of the film which was built from art created by Thom Yorke and Stanley Donwood during the Kid A and Amnesiac recording sessions. The movie and surrounding galleries also premiere a new mix of the songs from KID A MNESIA in spatial audio. Where is this taking place? The first four stops that the installation will tour through are: Brooklyn, Chicago, and Mexico City in 2026, before coming to San Francisco in 2027. Each visit will be booked in a 2-hour slot. Screening times will be listed when checking out to purchase. Each visit includes a film that runs for 75 minutes with additional time allotted to explore the gallery spaces at any pace.
Audience Role
The audience is exploring a museum of the lost and forgotten featuring art, sculpture, mixed media, and multi-media pieces created by Thom Yorke and Stanley Donwood during the recording of Kid A and Amnesiac. The labyrinthine installation leads guests to a custom-built, four-walled screening room featuring Kid A Mnesia The Movie, which includes a new spatial audio soundtrack mixed by Nigel Godrich.
