The Call Theatre’s October 2021 production: Public Access/Robin Byrd A new play by Karen Cecilia What’s it about: The play is based on pioneer of free speech, safe sex awareness during the height of the AIDS crisis, and an advocate for the LBGTQ+ community, Robin Byrd. Robyn Bird's Public-access cable show reached unprecedented heights of notoriety from the late 70’s all the way through the 90’s. Because of being a woman and her celebrating sexuality in all aspects, she became a target by corporate interests and scrutiny.
