Our first meetup of 2024 features 'The Tiger's Bride'
No Proscenium and the cell theatre are proud to present the first NYC Immersive Meetup of 2024! Join us at the cell theatre on January 29th, from 7pm to 9pm. We kindly request your RSVP, as space is limited. Tickets are pay what you can with donations benefitting No Proscenium. There will be a bar at the event with proceeds benefitting the cell theatre. This exclusive event is dedicated to fostering connections, nurturing communities, exchanging skills, and showcasing thought leadership within the immersive arts sphere. This quarter's artist feature is The Tiger's Bride Part circus theater, part haunted house, and fully immersive, The Tiger's Bride brings you, the guest, to the wedding night of Giles de Rais, aka "Bluebeard." What lies within his mansion is up to you to explore and discover. Each performance of The Tiger's Bride welcomes 40 guests to explore Monsieur de Rais' Manhattan mansion--a four-story immersive space--while helping his new bride unlock its secrets and being entertained by its mysterious staff. Created by Theatre Uzume and developed at the 2024 Artist in Residence program at Nancy Manocherian's the cell theatre, The Tiger's Bride illuminates classic fairy tales through the eyes of maligned protagonists as they rewrite their own stories, dragging our darkest desires into the light. Theatre Uzume was founded at the New School for Drama in 2014 by Suzanne Karpinski. It is a platform for emerging artists to work collaboratively on the development of multidisciplinary and immersive performance. ----- The primary aim of No Proscenium's quarterly meetup series is to facilitate a meaningful synergy: introducing the immersive community to a versatile project-ready venue, while acquainting performance venues with the thriving immersive arts community. Additionally, the meetup serves to highlight current immersive work in NYC and serves as a networking and information sharing hub for the upcoming quarter. ----- Tickets are PWYC (min $1.00 or it won't let you checkout).
