Nubank Arte Lab is Brazil’s largest permanent immersive art space, a 2,700 sq m cultural venue located on the first floor of Conjunto Nacional, the landmark modernist complex on Avenida Paulista in São Paulo. Created as a meeting point between art, technology and entertainment, it presents a changing programme of large-scale exhibitions, interactive installations, digital art, performances and special events. Unlike a temporary touring projection show, Nubank Arte Lab was purpose-built as a permanent and reprogrammable environment. Its audiovisual architecture can be adapted for different artists, narratives and formats, allowing the experience to evolve whenever the programme changes. The journey begins before visitors enter. An 84 sq m transparent LED façade wraps around the entrance, displaying moving artwork while preserving views between the venue and Conjunto Nacional’s public circulation area. With brightness above 4,000 nits and 75% transparency, the screen transforms the threshold into a large-scale digital canvas without separating the space from its surroundings. Inside are two immersive projection rooms, each measuring 23 m by 9 m with a four-metre-high ceiling. Twenty-nine laser projectors extend imagery across three walls and the floor, while mirrored surfaces complete the visual field and draw visitors into the work. The images are synchronised and blended to create continuous environments rather than a series of visible individual screens. The projection system can be recalibrated and remapped for each new production, making the rooms flexible digital canvases rather than spaces tied to one exhibition. Elsewhere in the venue, the Voxel is a three-dimensional LED sculpture made from 8,352 individually addressable light points distributed through a volume approximately two metres high, four metres wide and 5.7 metres long. Its name comes from the three-dimensional equivalent of a pixel. Instead of presenting imagery on a flat surface, the Voxel allows colour, light and movement to occupy physical space through generative content. A separate mirrored infinity room combines a 10 m by 3.5 m LED wall with mirrors across the floor, ceiling and remaining walls. Reflections multiply the imagery in every direction, making the display appear to continue beyond the room’s physical boundaries and surrounding the visitor with light, colour and motion. The inaugural exhibition, O Brasil de Tarsila, explores the life and work of Tarsila do Amaral, one of the central figures of Brazilian Modernism and an artist whose paintings helped shape Brazil’s modern visual identity. Across more than ten environments, approximately 40 works are reinterpreted using large-scale projection, interactive elements, an original soundtrack and sensory effects. Forms and characters drawn from Tarsila’s paintings move across walls and floors, while reflection, sound and spatial design place visitors inside a vivid journey through her work and the cultural landscape that inspired it. The opening programme also includes Jornada Muti Randolph + MAOTIK, a world-premiere digital art experience bringing together Brazilian artist Muti Randolph and French artist MAOTIK. Light, sound, space and movement interact in real time, demonstrating how the venue can support creative approaches beyond the inaugural exhibition and continue introducing new work to its audiences. Nubank Arte Lab was conceived and created by Aventura, Brazil’s largest operator of cultural venues, and Deeplab Project, a Brazilian experience studio working across storytelling, design and technology. It was developed in partnership with Nubank, Latin America’s leading digital bank, with architectural design by Brazilian practice Jacobsen Arquitetura. The permanent audiovisual platform was designed and integrated by ON Creative Visual Tech Provider. Its work brings together the projection rooms, transparent LED façade, Voxel, infinity room and supporting control systems as one coordinated environment. ON also operates the technology daily, helping the venue move between exhibitions and maintain a consistent experience for visitors. The venue also includes the NUV Gastrobar, a shop and spaces for cultural and corporate programming. It is suitable for all ages. Accessibility resources are available through the UMPRATODOS web app and include audio content, audio description, Brazilian Sign Language videos with captions, and text supported by images. Nubank Arte Lab is open Wednesday to Monday from 10:00 am to 10:00 pm and is closed on Tuesdays. The final session begins at 9:00 pm, with last admission at 9:20 pm. It is located at Conjunto Nacional, Avenida Paulista 2073, first floor, with direct access from the Consolação and Paulista metro stations. Visitors should consult the official website for the latest programme, session availability and tickets.

ImmersiveAudience Role
Visitors take the role of explorers, moving through a sequence of immersive and sensory environments. They can simply observe the projected artworks, soundscapes and LED installations or choose to engage with interactive elements. In some areas, sensors respond to their presence and movement, changing digital forms, colours and landscapes in real time. No interaction with performers is required, and the experience remains complete for visitors who prefer a more contemplative journey.
