NOSTALGIE 2175

Dystopia in the former Chapel of the Hospitallers

NOSTALGIE 2175 Immersive Event - Main Image

In 2175, following an unprecedented climate catastrophe, the temperature on earth reached 60 degrees Celsius. Survivors can no longer face the outside world without protective clothing. Their apartments are covered with tapestries based on human skin, tattooed to evoke moments of happiness in the open air, whose inspiration is drawn from films survivors of the world before. Human beings have become incapable of procreating naturally. But an exception proves the rule: her name is Pagona and discovers that she is pregnant. She only spent one night with Posch, the biological father. However, it is not him that she is madly in love with. It is from his protege, Taschko, who suffered an assault leaving him badly burned, his skin extremely fragile. From their first meeting, Pagona and Taschko know they can never touch each other. Although she has almost no chance of surviving childbirth, Pagona decides to deliver the child. Nostalgia 2175 is an invitation to take refuge in a timeless chapel. In the silence of this jewel of Montreal architecture, the echo of an organ and the traces of mad love, like ink under the skin. Important note: The show is presented as an immersive journey. About Théâtre à corps perdus

Founded in 2003, the Théâtre à corps perdus was born from a desire: to evoke what we dare not speak of . Our creations explore the troubled areas of our humanity. As part of a quest for meaning and identity, our approach takes shape through contact with the words of contemporary authors, from here and elsewhere. The writings that challenge us question the form to translate reality in a sensitive, audacious, powerful way. Immersive, our shows appeal to the senses , addressing the conscience but also the unconscious. We explore as much the meaning of the words as the way in which they fit into the body of the actor and the way in which the latter, in turn, fits into the stage image. Questioning the ritual of the theatrical evening, we play on the discrepancy in relation to the horizons of expectations, seeking to "move" the spectator. Our creations intertwine reality and fiction, in order to provoke intimate , bewitching and disturbing theatrical experiences . In situ creation is one of the poles of our approach. Full of history, soul and symbolic value, architecture and space shape the experience offered to the viewer. In a context where the virtual is constantly expanding, setting urban theatrical appointments outside the walls of a theater invites you to travel. Slipping into a place anchors the representation more solidly in the sensations, the encounter, the present. The Théâtre à corps perdus is a space of overcoming, within a core of creation which takes time to seek, to think outside the box, to take risks, to dare to dream together.
