Winner of the 2026 Thea Award - Recognition of Merit! Neotropolis is a fully immersive sci-fi and cyberpunk-themed event that is part mission role play, part interactive theater, part festival, part desert campout, and part user-generated. (From the godfathers of fully-immersive festivals, Wasteland World). A unique hybrid event, the 5-day festival includes multi-day story arcs and actors, quest missions, live bands, DJs, laser tag battles, retro video gaming, hacking, camping (but there are also hotels nearby), bartering and selling of themed goods, interactive spaces, tricked-out cyber cars, technology displays, food vendors, robot battles, FREE alcohol (thanks to the BYOB event policy and community bar servers), costume contests, and much more, all within a cyberpunk city built at the far edge of the galaxy. Approximately 2,500 people attend. This will be year 5 of this ever growing and evolving event.
Audience Role
Audience members may do everything from ignore, to observe, to participate, to create their own story content (with certain parameters and restrictions).
Ages: 18 +
Some performances may rarely include some nudity (such as burlesque dance acts).
