Modern Whitney: A Comedy Panel Show about Art
4 Comedians. 1 Art Expert. Riff on famous art.
Have you ever seen a piece of art in the MOMA and wondered what it means? Modern Whitney is an art comedy show where three comedians riff on what they think famous art means. After, an art experts schools them on what it actually means. This free public show is made possible by City Arts Corps Grants. Featuring Mic Nguyen (Asian, Not Asian), GARA (EN(BA)BY: A Podcast About Gender), Christi Chiello (Comedy Central) and hosted by Manolo Moreno (Dr. Gameshow). All attendees must present proof of full vaccination to enter. Proof can be via the New York State Excelsior pass, a physical copy of the CDC card, a photo of your CDC card, or other electronic record of vaccination includes name and date (e.g., some chain pharmacies have an app with this information). In all cases the name must match that on your photo ID.
Audience Role
The final part of the show, audience members will draw their own art to be examined by our comics and art expert. Then, the audience members tells us what the picture actually means.
