Love in the First Degree is a campy, interactive courtroom comedy set in the neon-drenched 1980s. The case? What should’ve been the most radical wedding reception of the decade...until the groom dropped dead mid-toast. Now, eight wedding guests stand accused of murder, each with motive, means, and something to hide. What makes Love in the First Degree uniquely thrilling is that the audience decides the outcome. Moments before each show, a new suspect is secretly chosen to be guilty, but only that performer knows. This means no two performances are the same, and the actors must improvise and adapt as the case unfolds live. The trial plays out in seven rounds. At the end of each, the audience votes to remove one suspect they believe is innocent. The stakes rise as the suspect list shrinks, until only one remains to face the final verdict! Part game, part performance, and all 80s excess, Love in the First Degree turns theatre into a live mystery thriller where you hold the gavel. It’s an evening as electric and unpredictable as the decade itself. Happening August 14*-17 at 7pm, with a 120 minute run time. *August 14th will be a relaxed performance
