The SNFCC Light Installations Festival invites audiences to a unique experience exploring the dynamic relationship between light, public space and contemporary art.
The SNFCC Light Installations Festival invites audiences to a unique experience exploring the dynamic relationship between light, public space and contemporary art. As part of this year’s edition, and in collaboration with Light Art Collection (LAC), one of the leading international organizations in the field of light art, the light installations come together for the first time in the form of a unified open-air exhibition by Cédric Le Borgne, transforming Stavros Niarchos Park into a captivating landscape of imagination, light and discovery. Floating human figures, luminous birds and mythical aquatic creatures appear among the trees, above the pathways and throughout the landscape, inviting visitors to wander and gradually discover the artist’s distinctive universe. Through his characteristic visual language, Cédric Le Borgne creates a world where reality and fantasy coexist in harmony. Light becomes a means of exploration and transformation, revealing new facets of the landscape and inviting visitors of all ages to wander through the Park and experience it anew. In the Dreamscape exhibition, all the artworks are being presented in Greece for the first time, creating an immersive experience that transforms a nighttime stroll through Stavros Niarchos Park into a journey of discovery, where art, nature and light come together in unexpected and magical ways. The exhibition features the following artworks: Sitting Boy – Planted Roofs Flying Men – Dome Bird Perched – Mediterranean Garden Koï Carps – Great Lawn Grey Angels Fishes – Mediterranean Garden Flying Men – Water Jets About the Artist Cédric Le Borgne lives and works in Toulouse, France. His work explores the interplay between the social and the personal, addressing timeless themes such as human experience, communication, coexistence and our relationship with public space. Since the early stages of his artistic career, he has developed a practice grounded in observation and in an immersive engagement with the places where he is invited to create. For him, every landscape, every city and every community holds its own visible and invisible stories, which become the starting point for new and unique creations. His artworks and installations have been presented at major events and in public spaces around the world, including Shanghai, Singapore, London, Geneva, Madrid and Moscow. At the core of his work is a desire to create moments of encounter, dialogue and shared experience, transforming familiar spaces into places of discovery and dreams.

About Stavros Niarchos Foundation Cultural Center (SNFCC)
The SNFCC was created at the initiative of and with an exclusive grant from the Stavros Niarchos Foundation (SNF), which delivered it to the Greek state upon completion in 2017. Designed by Renzo Piano and the Renzo Piano Building Workshop (RPBW), it is a public space, where everyone has free access and can participate in a multitude of cultural, educational, athletic, environmental and recreational activities and events. The SNFCC hosts the new premises of the Greek National Opera (GNO) and the National Library of Greece (NLG), and at the heart of this public domain lies the Stavros Niarchos Park, the largest public Mediterranean garden in the world.
