Kirkland House, A Living History Tour (2026)

Set within the beautifully restored Kirkland House, located along Ladner BC’s Arthur Drive heritage corridor, the event transforms the historic farmhouse into a living stage where audiences travel back to the early years of settlement in Delta. As you move from room-to-room through the house, encounter members of the Kirkland family whose lives shaped the community from the 1870s to the 1930s. History comes alive through six costumed actors, the real life people they portray and the stories they tell about their lives! From the United Empire Loyalist matriarch Letitia Kirkland, to Chung the Chinese-Canadian farmworker, Delta’s past is revealed through multiple voices and time perspectives. Following the tour, audiences can enjoy light refreshments. Kirkland House volunteers will also be on hand to show visitors more about the preservation work they do ; including the farm equipment display shed. Blending theatre with authentic local history, Kirkland House, A Living History Tour offers a unique cultural experience. The Delta Stageworks creative team includes Delta actors Renee Iaci, Eric Smith, Peg Christopherson, Avery Hansen, Nick Keenleyside and Taka Lee. The tour lasts approximately 50 minutes. This event is suitable for ages 10+.
