About Flapjack Theatrics
Flapjack Theatrics is a Takoma Park, MD-born theatre company with a unique model. Created by ADHD cancer veteran Tia Shearer Bassett, every project involves a small number of close collaborators and aligns with values including: thoughtfully welcoming and caring for audiences, and being a helper in this world. Flapjack crafts each piece slowly over time and on an artist-friendly schedule, creating gently interactive solo shows full of heart, precision and invention. Whether for adults or all ages, Flapjack shows come in two flavors: made-for-Zoom (so, for anyone, anywhere with Internet access), or flexible in-person shows that can be performed for 2 to 100 people. Flapjack shows have been streamed into children’s hospital rooms in Seattle, performed in-person in a Virginia living room, and popped up in libraries, classrooms, and theaters (and a circus tent!) in multiple states. Flapjack Theatrics. Theatre that meets you where you are.
