James Turrell: The Way of Color
A stone Skyspace on Crystal Bridges' Art Trail, marking dawn and dusk with shifting light
James Turrell has referred to himself as a "sculptor of light." Precisely crafted from native stone, Turrell's Skyspace, The Way of Color, provides a view of the sky altered by stunning lighting effects at dawn and dusk that change with the light outside, creating a unique experience for each viewer. The Skyspace opens for the sunrise experience every morning approximately 30-45 minutes before sunrise. The sunset experience begins approximately 10 minutes before sunset. Each experience takes about 30-40 minutes; precise times vary according to the time of year. Seating in the Skyspace is limited — guests are encouraged to arrive early to secure a seat. Located on Crystal Bridges' Art Trail, The Way of Color is free to see, with an LED light experience occurring daily before dawn and sunset.

About Crystal Bridges Museum of American Art
The mission of Crystal Bridges Museum of American Art is to welcome all to celebrate the American spirit in a setting that unites the power of art with the beauty of nature. Founded by philanthropist and arts patron Alice Walton, Crystal Bridges is a public non-profit charitable organization and art museum in Bentonville, Arkansas. Crystal Bridges' permanent collection spans five centuries of American artworks from early American to the present and is always free to view. Sculptures grace both interior galleries and outdoor trails, and the museum's galleries are refreshed regularly.
