Into the Ocean: Journey Beneath is a collaboration between ArtScience Museum and OceanX. Stretching from the ocean's surface to approximately 200 metres below, the Photic Zone is the sunlit layer of the sea where light penetrates the water column. From 200 to 1,000 metres below the ocean's surface lies the Twilight Zone, also known as the Mesopelagic Zone, a realm of dim light, cold temperatures and high pressure. Beginning at 1,000 metres below the ocean's surface and extending to the seafloor, the Aphotic Zone makes up the majority of the ocean.
