Hea Min Jung: Code Of Engagement

Mesmerising PERFORMANCE AND ART installation FROM BERLIN

Hea Min Jung: Code Of Engagement Immersive Event - Main Image

Berlin based Korean artist Hea Min Jung creates an absorbing and extraordinary immersive performance, weaving a shifting environment of movement, sculpture, and sound. Jung liberates the audience from the conventions of a sit-down performance, encouraging them to engage with her art as they wish within one of the most atmospheric buildings in London. Each night is different as she responds to the energies, actions and flow of the audience. Using latex sculptures, elastic lines, Shamanic bells and layered sound, Jung is inspired by the playful rubber-band games of her childhood and early experiences of loss. Her elegant choreography and deep connection with the audience transforms simple gestures into a journey through childhood to maturity. “What might have seemed eerie or strange in other contexts was executed with such precision that it transcended any discomfort, becoming utterly impressive and beautiful.”

About The Coronet Theatre

Welcome to The Coronet Theatre, the home of exceptional international arts in a re-imagined and restored Grade II listed theatre in London’s Notting Hill. Both its programme and the building’s restoration are curated by Artistic Director & CEO Anda Winters, in collaboration with artists from across the globe. For me, the artist is at the heart of the programme, and I work closely with the makers of the pieces I bring to London, sometimes watching and encouraging them for years. In this increasingly fractious world, I feel strongly that one of the greatest uniting forces is the international language of, and desire of all of us, to engage with art, whether as a maker or spectator. My goal is to fill the theatre spaces – the Main House, Print Room Studio, and bar – with diverse and wonderful arts from across the world, celebrating all its many forms, and the audiences who enjoy them. We hope to see you soon! Anda Winters Artistic Director & CEO The Coronet Theatre
