G7: 2070

Seven countries, fourteen leaders, and you. G7: 2070 is a new immersive play playing this October 19th, 20th and 21st at The Kampong. Set 50 years in the future at a G7 summit, audience members will become delegates for the US, China, Europe, Ethiopia, Russia, Uruguay and The Walt Disney Nation as they meet with one another and decide the fate of the world amid a climate crisis. From the creative minds of playwright William Hector (Sheol) and director Victoria Collado (AMPARO), with support from the Knight Foundation as a Knight New Work Miami winning project, and in partnership with The Kampong, National Tropical Botanical Garden, G7: 2070 is a Miami story, set in a future where the flooded city now lies beneath the waves of the South Florida Archipelago. Audience members choose which of the seven nations of the future they'll join for the night. Each country is headed by an ambitious global titan, ranging from Disney Nation president and founder, Leslie Kimball, to Europe's 25 year old Pope Joan II. Looming above all leaders is that in this future, 2070 marks a dramatic year of climate catastrophe and worldwide crisis. Audience members will become partners, accomplices, and confidants of these world leaders, and together shape the future in this three night limited run of G7: 2070. The future comes fast.
