Find WiiLii Episode 1: The Gate-Crasher

OVERVIEW Live, immersive theatre in VR—step into the story, interact with characters, and experience performance like never before. Brought to you by the award winning storytelling studio, GiiÖii Immersive Storytelling Studio, based out of Seoul, Korea, Find WiiLii is a guided virtual reality theater experience with two live actors. The show had its English Language World Premier at SXSW, where they have teamed up with Ferryman Collective to bring this mind-bending show to a western audience. Each show runs approx. 60 - 75 minutes long. PROJECT HISTORY Ferryman Collective and GiiOii have collaborated successfully before, most notably on the creation and licensing of the Korean version of the Ferryman show: The Severance Theory: Welcome to Respite, which went on to festival and public acclaim across Asia. GiiÖii, a leading immersive studio known for its innovative and story-driven content, has teamed up with Ferryman Collective to co-produce Find WiiLii. The project, which took three years to complete, was selected as a "Development Showcase" at the 2020 Cannes Film Festival XR Market, drawing attention from its planning stage. Find WiiLii is a testament to GiiÖii's continued commitment to creating impactful and memorable virtual experiences. Ferryman Collective is part of a new emerging group of theater production companies that are using the metaverse to reach audiences across the globe. Creating the potential to showcase live performance in the virtual space as a viable new medium for entertainment. NARRATIVE SUMMARY You have been recruited by the prestigious teleportation company Iioiig, to be a part of their mysterious ‘Find WiiLii’ project. You discover that your job is to find and collect the bits of memory created when someone uses a teleporter. But the company is being less than forthright about what they intend to do with these collected memories. Will you serve the company above all else and preserve this world changing technology, even when the company motives may be less than pure? Or will you help a misguided and disgruntled creator fighting for the truth, to take down the company from inside their own system? HOW IT WORKS Virtual Reality Admission – Participate Live Find WiiLii is a fully live VR performance featuring two actors who fluidly portray multiple characters. Audience members from around the world can attend using a Meta Quest 2, 3, 3s, Pro, or PCVR-compatible headset. To get the most out of this immersive experience: Enable your microphone so you can speak directly with the characters you encounter. Wear headphones to ensure clear audio and prevent feedback during the performance. This is the full interactive version of the show — you’re not just watching, you’re part of the story. IMMERSIVE THEATRE This immersive theatre experience differentiates itself from traditional theater by removing the stage and immersing audiences within the performance itself. Participants can expect a high level of interactivity, audiences will converse with the actors, other audience members and interact with their virtual surroundings. With the transformative power of VR technology, participants are fully immersed in our captivating 3D world. Audiences will go through multiple environments, exploring all the way from the tunnel system underneath the fictional Uncanny Alley world, traversing through hackerspaces, caravans, secret workshops, nightclubs and all the way to the heights of the ALI government penthouse offices. RESTRICTIONS Attendees will be required to create a VRChat account (this is free) and download the app to their Oculus or Steam account. We are Quest 2, 3, 3s and Pro compatible as well as PCVR via Steam. Quest 1 is not compatable and we ask that audiences do not come in on a PC or computer.
