Class is in session. EXTRACURRICULAR is a ground-breaking immersive musical that transforms the actual campus of Los Alamitos High School into a living stage. Moving beyond the traditional proscenium, this site-specific developmental workshop production invites the audience to step directly into the diverse and often unseen world of student life beyond academics. The Experience: A "Back to School" Journey Your journey begins in the high school lobby for an authentic "Back to School" event. Upon arrival, you will be sorted into your classes—joining the ranks of the Freshmen, Sophomores, Juniors, or Seniors. Guided by our "Spirit Squad," you will follow a linear narrative that travels through the gymnasium, corridors, a rotation of active classrooms, the library, and the cafeteria, before reaching a powerful conclusion in the school’s theater. A Professional Laboratory Led by Broadway veteran Thomas Schultheis (Grease!, Disney Imagination Campus), this workshop production is a high-level professional incubator. The production brings together a powerhouse creative team and a dynamic company featuring national tour talent, including Erin Choi (Frozen) and William Ansel Spitz (The Sound of Music), to refine the mechanics of site-specific storytelling. Don't just watch the musical—experience the hallways where the story happens. By prioritizing high-value professional workshops and collaborative world-building, we aim to redefine how audiences and artists interact within the modern musical theatre landscape.
