Join us for the NYC book release of Experience Design: A Participatory Manifesto by Abraham Burickson. Not your usual book event, this gathering will be an opportunity to explore the ideas in the book, meet other folks interested in experience design, and get to know a burgeoning NYC community of experience designers. Experience Vaulting an installation by This Yearning: set in a near future when humanity is moving beyond Earth. Participants embrace a new genetic identity, capable of survival in harsh extraplanetary environments. Based on the ancient myth of Myrrha – who was transformed into a tree after succumbing to her illicit desires – and modern space exploration protocols, Vaulting immerses participants in verdant sound and smell-scapes that encourage novel sensations and the expansion of self into that of a greater macro-organism. Event is hosted by Prime Produce, a grassroots, cooperatively-run member space, and a place where friends, family, and neighbors cultivate the craft of community service.
