Down the Road
An immersive serial killer thriller
Down the Road is an intimate, immersive psychological thriller that places the audience inside the interrogation room—mere feet from a convicted serial killer and the couple trying to extract his story. Set in a stripped-down jailhouse space on 34th and Park, this site-specific production draws inspiration from true crime interviews, minimalist theater, and the discomfort of proximity. As journalist Iris and her husband Dan begin interviewing Bill Reach—a soft-spoken man responsible for multiple brutal murders—the lines between investigator and accomplice begin to blur. What begins as a professional pursuit devolves into something deeply personal and unsettling. Audience members sit within the interrogation space, surrounded by the actors, with no stage to separate them from the tension. Every breath, glance, and hesitation plays out at eye level. Directed and produced by Dave Morrissey Jr. and The Other Side, Down the Road pushes the boundaries of immersive storytelling, questioning why we’re drawn to darkness—and what happens when it sees us looking. Only 25 seats per show. Runs approximately 90 minutes. Fridays and Saturdays through May 31. 7pm Warning: Contains disturbing themes and language. https://www.downtheroad.show/ Tickets available now.
