Club Velvet

Club Velvet is a live-action immersive experience created by the Philadelphia LARP Society in partnership with Doom Bar. This is not a stage show. This is not a haunted house. This is not a traditional sit-down tabletop game. Club Velvet is a social, character-driven experience where guests step into an atmospheric world and become part of the story through conversation, choice, and interaction. Players will enter the space as attendees of Club Velvet, a private nightlife gathering with its own culture, secrets, and social rules. From there, the experience unfolds through the people you meet, the conversations you choose to have, and the decisions you make throughout the night. No prior LARP experience is required. Club Velvet is designed to be approachable for first-time players while still offering depth for those familiar with immersive roleplay, parlor LARP, gothic nightlife games, or social deduction-style experiences. Rather than relying on complicated mechanics or heavy rules, Club Velvet focuses on social play, atmosphere, and participant-led storytelling. You do not need to memorize a rulebook or arrive with a fully developed character. You will be given enough context to enter the world, understand your place in it, and begin interacting naturally. Expect: A live, in-person immersive environment Light character framing and social prompts Mechanics-light gameplay Conversation-driven story Opportunities to make choices and form connections A gothic, nightlife-inspired atmosphere A beginner-friendly structure that allows you to engage at your own comfort level You may come alone or with friends. You may choose to be bold, curious, cautious, charming, ambitious, skeptical, or anything in between. There is no single “right” way to play. The experience is built around what happens when different people enter the room and begin making choices together. Club Velvet is best for guests who enjoy immersive theatre, social roleplay, gothic fiction, vampire stories, nightlife aesthetics, mystery, character interaction, and experiences where the story is shaped by the people in the room. This is an 21+ event. Please plan to arrive early for check-in. Tickets close at 6 PM, one hour before the event.
