Audience Role
When we say we have something for everyone — we mean it! City Museum is full of fun for all ages and interests. The only thing you need is an active imagination (and maybe a pair of kneepads; find them in the gift shop). We believe in the freedom of play. It’s why City Museum exists. We invite you to run, jump, slide, climb and enjoy your time in our weirdly wonderful space.

About City Museum
Housed in an old shoe factory in Downtown St. Louis, City Museum is an ever-evolving, always-thrilling, artist-built playground full of weirdly wonderful spaces to explore. From a passion project to an indoor, outdoor, underground playground that welcomes adventurous visitors from all over, we had no idea what City Museum would become when we first opened our doors. City Museum is the brainchild of internationally acclaimed and classically trained sculptors Bob and Gail Cassilly. The Cassillys and their longtime crew of artisans built the museum using all the weird and wonderful things that cities leave behind. Today, Creative Director Rick Erwin, whose experience includes Art History and Arts Administration, leads our team of artists and certified playground engineers as they continue to build and expand our always-thrilling, ever-evolving playground. Rick has been with City Museum since 2006 and even had his first date with his wife here.
