About Mathis House

The Mathis House, former home of Thomas A. Mathis, who early in the last century was a leading political figure in Ocean County. The mansion, a stunning example of Dutch Revival architecture, was built in 1898. It is a three-story structure, with a grand porch, portico, graceful lawns and the original preserved carriage house.
