Chiharu Shiota's The Ship of Memories (2023) is a permanent installation in the Fukuoka Art Museum's contemporary art hall: a sweeping network of red rope woven into netting and draped from the ceiling, creating a towering waterfall of crimson. Created expressly for installation at the Fukuoka Art Museum, the piece takes inspiration from the history of Fukuoka.
