Chiharu Shiota: Passage
Seven boats suspended in mid-air in the WinX Tower's public entrance hall, telling the story of Frankfurt as a historic trading hub.
Passage (2021) is installed in the publicly accessible entrance hall of the WinX Tower, which forms the main entrance of the high-rise and is designed to strengthen the everyday use of the neighborhood as an urban loggia. The permanent installation features seven boats suspended in mid-air, one of which hangs on the outside of the building. Commissioned by WinX GmbH & Co Immobilien KG, Bad Homburg, the artwork tells the story of Frankfurt as a historic trading hub.
