Canopy

A fall drive through sound, color, and stories

Canopy Immersive Event - Main Image

Close your eyes. Picture your favorite tree. Canopy is the first in-house production in Control Group’s history to be produced outside the direction of its founder and artistic director, Patrick Mueller. Canopy is directed and performed by Caroline Sharkey, Control Group’s Director of Artist Services. Original Composition and Performances by Conrad Kehn and Ryan Fiegl of Playground Ensemble. Additional support from Patrick Mueller, Richard Sauer, and Katie Day Weisberger. Canopy is a leaf-peeping tour along 30 miles of Deer Canyon Valley Road in Littleton, Colorado. With deciduous Aspen, Cottonwood, Maple, and Willow trees, a smattering of evergreen trees, and stark rock formations lining the winding road, guests are taken on a journey of meditation and contemplation of the fleeting nature of fall and trees in an ever-changing climate. With live music, poetry, dance, and a renovated bus, Canopy invites guests to embrace change, hibernation, and the coming sleep of winter and to recognize the deep connection and reliance we have on trees, the connection and reliance trees have to the land, and the interconnectedness between the two.
