Beyond the Wardrobe - An Exclusive Immersive Experience
The debut of an immersive theatre experience exploring relationships, madness, position and freedom.
What is 'Beyond the Wardrobe' A young girl lives out what seems like a whole lifetime in a magical world, only to return to the harshness of her dated reality and find that she is considered mentally unsound and incarcerated. Although it is a hospital environment, she is treated with a brutal and shocking lack of sympathy. But, part of that magic world is still in her, a Faun trapped within and lurking in her darkest shadows. Sometimes desire can be all-consuming, and sometimes it’s just better to embrace the darkness. Love isn’t always good. - This is a one-woman immersive performance which was originally devised under Covid restrictions where it was intended to be a much larger, multi-actor play very loosely inspire by CS Lewis's fantasy winterscape. It has been revised here, with new additions to the script, and developed into this journey through an uncomfortable world exploring the effects of a dysfunctional relationship.
Audience Role
This is an immersive event so you will be in close contact with the performer. You should not touch them or talk during the performance unless invited to do so - if you are uncomfortable interacting then indicate this by shaking your head or saying 'no thank you'. If you do not want to have the food or drink then a shake of the head or saying 'no thank you' will indicate this to the performer.

About Dodo Watson-Saunders
Dodo has performed since young in various shows and pantomimes but discovered the fabulous world of immersive theatre when she first visited Grimm Tales as a child and was smitten. Having seen immersive performances in New York and London, Dodo is keen to bring theatre to spaces not usually associated with performance, and is also keen to encourage others to love the art form and, after school, spent a year teaching drama alongside her performing. Currently a student at The Royal Central School of Speech and Drama, she is delighted to have been given the opportunity to bring this world she imagined, when devising 'Beyond the Wardrobe', to a wider audience.
