Between Dreams

What does it feel like to step inside a dream?

Between Dreams Immersive Event - Main Image

Born from a collaboration between Patrick Trudeau and Claire Kenway, Between Dreams is an immersive experience exploring the architecture of sleep: from wakefulness to deep sleep, through dreaming, and back to consciousness. Inspired by brain waves and circadian rhythms, the work recreates the stages of sleep through images and sound. Abstract visuals, evolving patterns, and sonic textures transform the dome into a map of the sleeping brain. The dome becomes a sanctuary of respite: a place to slow down, settle in, and reconnect with the intimate experience of rest. A counter-space to contemporary overstimulation, imposed rhythms, and the pressures of productivity. More than a film, Between Dreams is a collective experience to be enjoyed horizontally — a place to surrender to sleep, a sensory refuge. Audiences are invited to bring blankets and pillows to get comfortable, relax, and perhaps drift into sleep. On April 10, joined by The Bionic Harpist, the experience will culminate in a unique nocturnal event: an eight-hour immersive nocturnal experience recreating a full sleep cycle inside the dome—a historic first. Some visual elements of this work were generated using AI.

About Society for Arts and Technology

Since its creation in 1996, the SAT has been dedicated to the development of digital culture. It is the only place in Montreal (and probably in the world) to bring together under one roof an immersive theater (Satosphere), a research laboratory, a training center, a venue, a café and a restaurant.
