What makes a great leader? This question echoes both through Euripides’ The Bacchae and the modern acting troupe performing this classic play. Back-Eye is a daring adaptation of the timeless Greek tragedy, where audiences take on an active part in choosing between alternate endings of the harrowing tale, utilizing the most popular invention of Ancient Greece - the democratic vote. Back-Eye is a site-specific, immersive production complete with original music and choreography, giving new life to the 2,500 year old text through honoring its original role- a piercing mirror of society forcing you to ask yourself some hard questions. How far can a leader go? Will you let them, or will you stand up for what you think is right? Performance dates: Friday through Sunday over two weekends in July.
