An intense re-imagining of the Bacchae by Euripides, with a hypnotic 1960s setting. 36 audience members mingle with 7 performers in a free-roam immersive show in an underground crypt. Take a trip to the city of Thebes, where King Pentheus believes he has everything under control - that is until his divine cousin Dionysus turns up seeking revenge on the family who have expressed doubt about this upstart god’s status. Witness first-hand the clash between mortals and the divine. You will ask yourself … do you deny a god? Brought to you by Sleepwalk Immersive. Audience Role
The show is a non-seated event, where you can explore the set and choose to follow specific characters. Some audience members may also be offered food to eat or clothing to wear.

At Sleepwalk, we consider ourselves the next generation of fully immersive theatre. Formed in 2022 by a group of young creatives working in the industry, Sleepwalk offer intense theatrical experiences for small audiences, telling stories which will haunt and enthral. Our creative team have grown up in a world of free-roaming theatre where the audience has agency.
