ALICE
Follow the White Rabbit. Face the Queen. Dive into the world of the Caterpillar. Celebrate with the Mad Hatter. And, ultimately, encounter yourself.
Set inside the House of Colors at Nicolaistraße 18–20 in Dresden, an empty apartment building scheduled for demolition in December 2026, Alice transforms Wonderland into a living, physical world. The building has been transformed by the work of 50 graffiti artists, with every room, hallway and staircase becoming a canvas. Now, dancers, actors and circus artists inhabit this unique environment, creating encounters that unfold at close range and from constantly shifting perspectives. Urban dance styles including Waving, Popping and Krump meet Physical Theatre, Circus, Acting and Live Music, while the graffiti and street art surrounding the performance become an integral part of the story. The familiar characters of the cultural classic become reflections of the pressures and contradictions of contemporary life. The White Rabbit embodies our constant drive to optimise, perform and keep moving. The Queen represents the rigidity of increasingly polarised opinions. The Caterpillar explores resilience pushed to the point of apathy, while the Mad Hatter throws one party after another, offering escape. Moving through this Wonderland, Alice searches for something beyond all of it: a sense of self and a genuine connection with others. The experience is deliberately analogue: no cameras, no fixed seating, no single viewpoint. Every visitor creates their own version of the story by choosing whom to follow, what to ignore and where to look. End of December 2026 the Building will be demolished. Follow the White Rabbit. Face the Queen. Dive into the world of the Caterpillar. Celebrate with the Mad Hatter. And, ultimately, encounter yourself.
